ShiftSub is designed to support flexible, supplemental income opportunities, not permanent or regularly scheduled employment with a single employer. This purpose is central to the ShiftSub brand and the experience we aim to create for SubWorkers.

Employers using ShiftSub may hire workers for full-time or part-time permanent roles. However, to maintain the intent and integrity of the platform, employers should not actively recruit or pressure SubWorkers into ongoing, regularly scheduled employment.

What Is Allowed

  • Employers may accept a SubWorker for a permanent role if the SubWorker initiates the conversation
  • SubWorkers who want full-time or part-time ongoing work may approach an employer directly
  • ShiftSub does not restrict SubWorkers from pursuing opportunities that align with their personal goals

What Is Not Allowed

  • Employers repeatedly asking or pressuring SubWorkers to accept permanent or regularly scheduled work
  • Employers attempting to persuade SubWorkers who have expressed they are only interested in flexible or supplemental shifts
  • Conversations that make SubWorkers feel uncomfortable, pressured, or obligated

This policy exists specifically to protect SubWorkers who do not want ongoing schedules and joined ShiftSub for flexibility.

What You Should Do If This Happens

If an employer continues to bring up permanent or regularly scheduled work and you are not interested:

  1. Politely redirect the conversation
You may say: “I use ShiftSub for flexible, supplemental work and prefer to keep my schedule that way.”
  2. Do not feel pressured to agree
You are not required to explain or justify your decision.
  3. Report the situation to ShiftSub
Reporting helps us maintain the purpose of the platform and protect other SubWorkers with similar goals.

You will never be penalized for declining permanent work or for reporting unwanted recruitment.

Why This Policy Exists

This policy helps:

  • Preserve ShiftSub as a platform for flexible, supplemental income
  • Prevent pressure or discomfort for SubWorkers
  • Maintain clear expectations between employers and SubWorkers
  • Differentiate ShiftSub from traditional job boards and staffing models

Accountability

ShiftSub reviews reports related to this policy and may take appropriate action when boundaries are repeatedly ignored.

ShiftSub reserves the right to restrict or remove access to the platform for users who do not respect these guidelines.
