SubWorkers

4 min read

The following guidelines are used to maintain consistency in the ShiftSub brand.  In any event, ShiftSub reserves the right to suspend and/or terminate any user at any time, for any reason.

SubWorkers acknowledge and agree to give permission to any employer to share information regarding attendance, punctuality, appearance, and/or behavior incidents known as “strikes” with ShiftSub.   Strikes can be added to a subworker’s account on ShiftSub by employers and/or ShiftSub.

It is at the discretion of the employer as to whether or not they report a strike to ShiftSub.  Strikes must be reported within 48 hours of the end of the shift the incident took place on.  Once a strike is reported, it cannot be retracted.

ShiftSub will not determine whether or not the incident is valid.

It is the responsibility of the employer to document any/all details in relation to the strikes and include them as part of their initial strike report.

Strikes remain on the subworker’s account for one calendar year.

During a SubWorker suspension, the SubWorker will be unable to access ShiftRoles, SubTeams and Open Shifts.  They will have access to “My Schedule”.

Employers reserve the right to add and/or remove SubWorkers from their calendars & schedules at their discretion.  Employers adding and/or removing SubWorkers is unrelated to the strikes policy by ShiftSub.

Strikes Guide

5 strikes = 3 day suspension

7 strikes = 10 day suspension

10 strikes = 1 year suspension

Call-In (2 strikes):  A subworker picks up a shift, doesn’t work it, doesn’t find anyone to work it for them but notifies the assigned mentor by speaking to them directly over the phone more than 24 hours before the shift.

No-Show (3 strikes): A subworker picks up a shift, doesn’t work it, doesn’t find anyone to work it for them and doesn’t notify the employer more than 12 hours in advance from the start time.

The 12-hour window between being categorized as a call-In vs a no-show is at the employer’s discretion. Employers absolutely can report it as a no-show, however, there may be situations where the employer feels it’s more of a call-in.

Attendance: Late (1 strike):  ShiftSub considers a subworker “on time” when they are present, dressed, fed, been to the restroom and are clocked in and “ready to work” on/before the designated start time. Late is late. On-time is on-time. We recommend sub-workers arrive early enough to take care of anything they need to take care of personally before they clock in and start working.

Attendance: Leave Early (1 strike):  We recommend that subworkers do not pick up shifts if there is any possibility that they may have to leave early. Sub-workers are expected to work the shift in it’s entirety. If a subworker leaves early on their own or asks to leave early and it is granted, either way, it can be reported as a leave early instance. The only time leaving early is not counted as a leave early hiccup is if an employer approaches the subworker and sends them home early.

Appearance (1 strike): Uniform to follow the details of each open shift post by employer. If nothing specified in the open shift post, the standard ShiftSub uniform.  The overall appearance of the subworker should be neat, clean & professional.

Items (1 strike):  If a subworker has agreed to work a specific subrole that requires them to bring tools, supplies or other items and do not bring them on shift, this is the strike that employers would report it.  While employers may include the information in open shifts, they are not required to.  The items are posted as part of the SubRole and are agreed upon during the Meet&Greet.

Branding (2 strikes):  While wearing the ShiftSub logo and/or working a shift through ShiftSub, ShiftSub expects subworkers to represent our brand with 100% professionalism. All employers and their staff are to be treated with respect at all times.

Behavior (2 strikes): Behavior strikes result from unprofessional behavior which may include, but are not limited to, vaping, cussing, not following instructions, being on cell phone, etc.

Any of the following incidents will add 7 strikes and an automatic suspension on the SubWorker’s account. If a police report is filed, an additional 3 strikes will be added resulting in a minimum 1 year account suspension.
